Meet Dr. Jennell
As a wife, mother, minister, author, community leader, and nonprofit Founder, Rev. Dr. Jennell Whitfield Riddick’s undeniable passion and sincere desire to encourage, empower, and equip others to “walk in” their maximum potential fuels her daily. Honored by the privilege to share with thousands over a decade, it is evident
that improving the lives of others is her life’s work.
Dr. Riddick honors graduate of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University where she earned a Master of Divinity Degree. In May 2018, she earned her Doctoral Degree from Chicago Theological Seminary Mrs. Riddick is the recipient of the National Black Student Leadership Conference Legacy Award, the Rhetoric and Communication Studies Leadership Award, and the Peer Advisory and Mentor Program Mentor of the Year. She was named the 2016 Community Service Woman of the Year among many other awards.
Dr. Riddick is the Founder and Executive Director of Walk In It Inc. This organization is devoted to the holistic health and empowerment of girls and women. Walk-In It’s Ladies of Distinction Mentor/Character Development Program currently serves over 650 girls monthly throughout 22 schools in 5 school districts.

The Mission & Vision
To encourage, empower, and equip girls and women to be holistically healthy and strong: educationally, emotionally, socially and physically. Having spent most of her life mentoring and empowering others, Jennell was inspired to create an organization where she could affect positive change in young women on a more hands-on and consistent basis.
The Ladies of Distinction program began in one school with 16 girls in 2007. To date we serve 700 girls in 30 locations. Through the organization’s programming, Dr. Riddick and her team of directors, volunteers, and personnel have reached the lives of over 10,000 girls and women, nationwide since its inception.

Dr. Jennell Whitfield Riddick is an honors graduate of the University of Richmond where she double majored in Rhetoric and Communication Studies and Theatre.
She has served in numerous leadership capacities and as a part of several organizations. She is also an honors graduate of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University where she earned a Master of Divinity Degree. In May 2018, she earned her Doctoral Degree from Chicago Theological Seminary.

Reverend Riddick enjoys serving in ministry alongside her husband Pastor Dwight S. Riddick II at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Portsmouth, VA. She is also employed as an Adjunct Instructor at Paul D. Camp Community College. Rev. Riddick is the author of Walk In It: Advancing Beyond Average, Girl Talk: What Every Lady Should Know, and Getting It Done, Without Becoming Undone. She continues to travel throughout Hampton Roads and beyond as a sought-after motivational speaker, conference facilitator, preacher, and mentor.

R.E.D. - Excellent Daughters
The Raising Excellent Daughters Program is the parent support component of Walk In It Inc. It connects daughters and parents through sessions, meals, and exposure trips
W.I.T - Walk In Women
Walk-In It is proud to help women walk in their purpose through retreats, conferences, and mentoring. The Annual WIT Women’s Conference is host to hundreds of women each year.
